We are looking for an experienced Gardener / Landscape Specialist with professional education to maintain and further develop the gardens of a private villa complex in Cyprus.
The position covers 10 villas with landscaped gardens, surrounding outdoor areas and pool areas.
We are looking for an independent professional who can keep the grounds in excellent condition, identify problems before they become visible to guests, plan required works, coordinate assistants and contractors, and contribute to the long-term development of the landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain gardens, landscaped areas and outdoor spaces around the villas and swimming pools
Care for laws, trees, shrubs, hedges, ornamental and seasonal plants
Monitor and maintain irrigation systems, including minor adjustments and repairs
Pruning, planting and transplanting
Fertilization and soil care
Prevention, identification and treatment of plant diseases and pests
Monitor the general condition of plants and soil
Plan regular and seasonal gardening works
Maintain consistently high presentation standards across all properties
Allocate tasks to assistants and supervise the quality of completed work
Coordinate specialized external contractors when required
Work with the owner and professional landscape designers on the further development of the gardens
Recommend suitable plants and landscaping solutions for the Cyprus climate
Participate in new planting, garden improvements and renovation projects
The main quality standard is simple: the gardens must always look well maintained and ready for guests.
Working Around Guests
The villas are rented to guests throughout the year, therefore gardening works must be organized with minimum disturbance.
The successful candidate should be able to:
plan noise or disruptive works appropriately;
coordinate access to garden areas when required;
communicate professionally with guests;
coordinate gardening activities with the villa management team.
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a gardener, horticulturist, landscape gardener or similar
Relevant professional education in Horticulture, Agronomy, Landscaping, Landscape Gardening or a related field
Strong practical knowledge of plant care
Experience working in a Mediterranean or similar climate
Good knowledge of irrigation systems
Ability to identify plant diseases, pests and other horticultural problems
Experience using professional gardening equipment
Ability to independently plan and organize work
Ability to supervise assistants and coordinate contractors
High attention to detail and strong quality standards
Valid driving license is required
Previous professional experience in Cyprus would be a significant advantage.

Experience creating a garden from scratch or carrying out major garden renovations
Understanding of landscape design principles
Experience with palms, olive trees, citrus trees and ornamental plants commonly used in Cyprus
Experience managing a small gardening team
