General Manager – Upcoming Mövenpick Larnaca Beach Resort
Job Description
About the Resort
Set on the Mediterranean shoreline of Oroklini, Larnaca, our beachfront resort with a semi-private beach, the Kyma Mediterranean restaurant, the M Sky rooftop bar and the Aura Spa. In early 2027, the resort will undergo a renovation to be repositioned as a Mövenpick, taking the property to Mövenpick's premium standards of product, service, and guest experience.
This is an opportunity to lead a resort through its transformation: to shape the team, the culture and the commercial positioning that will define the Mövenpick era, and to deliver strong results through the renovation and relaunch.
The Role
As a General Manager, you are the commercial engine of the resort and an ambassador of the Mövenpick brand. This is a strategic, results-driven role, your primary objective is outstanding financial performance, maximizing revenue, GOP and asset value. You will bring bold, original ideas to grow the business, back them with top level financial and commercial judgement, and lead an exceptionally high performing team to deliver them, with visible, hands on leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy and Financial Performance
· Own the resort's financial success. Set and deliver ambitious targets for revenue, RevPAR, total revenue per available room, GOP and flow-through
· Develop and execute a multi-year commercial strategy for the Mövenpick repositioning: target segments, pricing architecture, channel and distribution mix etc.
· Go big with ideas. Working hand in hand with Events and Marketing teams to launch new revenue streams and premium concepts across rooms, F&B, rooftop and beach experiences, spa, weddings, events, packages and off-season demand.
· Strong experience overseeing F&B operations in a resort or luxury hotel environment, with a proven track record of driving F&B revenue.
· Lead budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting, setting objectives that are ambitious yet realistic.
· Interpret results in depth and know how to communicate findings to owners and other stakeholders when necessary. Be solution focused when variances arise.
· Drive cost control and profitability, including payroll spend, cost of sales, purchasing, energy and departmental ratios.
· Present performance, forecasts, and investment cases to ownership with confidence.
Compliance
· Responsible for ensuring that the Resort meets required licensing and classification requirements at all times. Keep up to date with legislation and upcoming changes.
· Ensure compliance with health and safety, fire safety, food hygiene (HACCP) etc in collaboration with the Operations Manager.
· Lead Accor and Movenpick audits, brand standards and quality, safety and sustainability programs, and close any findings quickly.
· Keep inspections, certifications, licenses and records current, with regular internal audits and prompt corrective action.
· Inspire and train the team on procedures and build a culture where safety and compliance come first
Leading the Renovation and Re-launch Strategy
· Partner with ownership, the Accor technical and brand teams, and project teams on the 2027 renovation.
· Protect revenue, cash and team morale during the works through phased trading, pricing and reforecasting.
· Own the re-launch plan: pre-sales, pricing, launch campaigns, and the targets and timeline to reach stabilized, market leading performance as a Mövenpick.
· Plan operational readiness: staffing, training, service standards, systems and re-opening budgets.
· Champion Mövenpick brand essentials and ensure consistent delivery throughout the guest journey.
Building and Inspiring Your Team
· Lead, coach and develop the heads of department and the wider team, building a strong 5 star guest centric mindset
· Foster a collaborative, inclusive and engaged culture.
· Manage alongside HOD and HR for seasonal workforce planning, training and retention in a seasonal market.
· Build positive relationships with Accor, suppliers and the local community.
Driving Service Excellence
· Maintain premium product and service standards that consistently exceed guest expectations, with strong guest satisfaction scores and online reputation.
· Be visible and hands-on in the resort, engaging with guests and teams daily.
· Oversee guest relations, complaint resolution, safety, security and risk management.
· Manage vendor and supplier relationships to optimize service quality and cost efficiency.
Your Experience and Skills
Required
· A minimum of six years' experience in a Hotel Manager position (or equivalent senior operational leadership role), ideally within reputable international hotel groups.
· A university degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Administration, Tourism Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
· A demonstrable record of delivering outstanding financial results: top-level command of P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, revenue management, room pricing strategy, cost control and profitability, with evidence of growth in RevPAR, GOP and flow-through.
· The ability to interpret financial results, identify variances against budget, diagnose underlying causes and take corrective action, taking ownership of the numbers rather than relying on finance to interpret them.
· A strategic, entrepreneurial mindset, with examples of bold commercial ideas you originated and delivered that measurably grew revenue or profit.
· Expert commercial judgement across pricing, distribution, channel mix and segmentation.
· Strong operational leadership, ideally in a resort or beachfront environment.
· Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop an exceptionally high performing team.
· Excellent communication and presentation skills
· Knowledge of hospitality compliance, health and safety and risk management.
· Fluent English, written and spoken.
Preferred
· Experience in Greece, Cyprus or elsewhere in Europe.
· Greek language skills or other European language will be an advantage
· Experience leading a hotel renovation, repositioning, re-branding or pre-opening, and taking a property up the market.
· Experience with Accor, Mövenpick or a comparable premium upscale brand and its standards.
· Working knowledge of revenue management tools, business intelligence and financial reporting.
· Experience in a seasonal market.
What We Offer
· A competitive compensation package (inclusive of an accommodation allowance)
· 13th salary
· Provident fund contributions in accordance with applicable requirements
· 21 days of bookable annual leave
· The opportunity to lead the renovation and re-launch of a Mediterranean beachfront resort into the Mövenpick brand
· Career development within the Accor network of more than 45 brands
