Nicosia, Cyprus · €40,000 to €60,000 gross per year
Arandor is a privately owned Cyprus holding company. We acquire founder-owned businesses and operate them for the long term. We have no outside investors, the owners fund the company and work in it directly. We are just over a year old, with several acquisitions completed, portfolio revenues in the eight figures, and an eight-figure balance sheet ready to deploy.
We are hiring one person to own accounting and reporting across the group. You design the finance function and you run it.
 

What you own

• Group reporting. Each company keeps its own books in its own system. You set the standard for how they keep them and hold their accountants to it. You also make sure the numbers we care about are reported up every month, in enough detail that the owners and management can run the businesses off them.
   
• Parent company books. These are yours directly, including intercompany loans, charges and interest.
   
• Compliance. You make sure tax, VAT, payroll, levies and statutory filings across every entity are filed on time, and you coordinate the auditors and external advisers.
   
• Payments. You run group payment runs, loan repayments and intercompany funding, and keep a short-term cash forecast so every company can pay what it owes.
   

When we acquire a company, you look at its books before the deal and bring them up to our standard after.
Who you are
You are sharp and you work hard. When something is yours, it gets handled and nobody has to chase you. You dig into an unexplained balance until you understand it, and you can tell a minor accounting issue from something management needs to know. You are curious about how a business makes money, not only about its numbers. You would rather build the system than inherit one.
This is a demanding job. When a deal is live the hours are long, and we expect a high standard all year round.
Requirements

 

• ACCA or ACA qualified, with at least 4 years of experience (training years count), ideally including audit at a recognised firm
   
• Able to produce a clean set of accounts and defend every line
   
• Fluent English, working knowledge of Greek
   
• Based in Cyprus or willing to relocate, able to work in Nicosia and travel to portfolio companies
   

Group or intercompany accounting and Cyprus tax and VAT experience are a plus. If you are slightly short on years but recognise yourself in the rest, apply anyway. We hire on character and judgement before CV.
Compensation
€40,000 to €60,000 gross per year, depending on experience. Private medical and life insurance, a provident fund contribution, and travel support for company visits.
We are looking for someone to grow with us. For the right person, this becomes a long-term seat with the opportunity to earn equity in the group over time.
