Job Description

This is a hands-on role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the business, including reconciliations, company accounting, client investment records, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and commercial analysis.

The successful candidate will oversee financial controls across banking platforms, trading platforms, cryptocurrency exchanges, and our internal CRM systems. This position is ideal for someone with experience in FX, CFD, cryptocurrency, or financial services who enjoys both operational finance and commercial analysis.

As a small and growing business, we are looking for someone who is comfortable taking ownership, working independently, and contributing across multiple areas of the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

Finance & Accounting

• Maintain accurate day-to-day company financial records.
• Perform monthly account balancing and reconciliations.
• Upload and review monthly reports from various internal and external sources.
• Review and record Profit & Loss (PNL) from trading accounts.
• Reconcile company bank accounts and financial transactions.
• Support preparation of management accounts and financial reporting.
• Maintain accurate financial documentation and records.
• Client Investment Records & Reconciliation
• Maintain accurate records of client deposits and withdrawals.
• Ensure all client transactions are accurately recorded within internal systems.
• Monitor client balances and ensure consistency across all systems.
• Perform daily reconciliation across banking records, trading platforms, cryptocurrency exchanges, and internal systems.
• Investigate and resolve unreconciled transactions and discrepancies.
• Maintain clear audit trails and reconciliation reports.

Cryptocurrency Operations

• Monitor cryptocurrency deposits and withdrawals.
• Investigate blockchain transaction discrepancies.
• Reconcile wallet balances, exchange balances, and internal records.
• Work with major cryptocurrency exchanges and wallet providers.
• Ensure accurate recording of all cryptocurrency-related transactions.

Revenue Share & Commercial Tracking

• Track revenue share agreements and partner arrangements.
• Monitor affiliate and introducing broker payments.
• Maintain accurate records of revenue share calculations.
• Investigate discrepancies relating to partner payments and revenue allocations.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis

• Prepare and maintain company budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor expenditure against budgets and identify variances.
• Assist management with cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning.
• Produce regular management reports and business performance analysis.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and operational efficiency.

Marketing & Business Analysis

• Produce reports highlighting trends, opportunities, and areas of concern.
• Provide recommendations based on financial and operational data.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience within FX, CFD, cryptocurrency, or financial services.
• Strong reconciliation and finance operations experience.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and financial record keeping.
• Experience reconciling trading platforms, banks, cryptocurrency exchanges, and internal systems.
• Experience preparing budgets, forecasts, and management reports.
• Strong Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables, and financial analysis.
• Experience using CRM systems and operational tracking tools such as Notion.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of financial processes.
• Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Daily reconciliations completed accurately and on time.
• Timely identification and resolution of discrepancies.
• Monthly management reports delivered within agreed deadlines.
• Accurate budgeting and forecasting.
• Effective monitoring of marketing spend and ROI.
• Accurate revenue share and partner payment calculations.
• Strong financial controls maintained across all systems.

Ideal Candidate

This role would suit someone with experience in finance, reconciliation, and financial operations within the FX, CFD, cryptocurrency, or wider financial services sector.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing multiple responsibilities, investigating discrepancies, producing financial analysis, and supporting management with budgeting, forecasting, and business performance reporting.
