CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a rapidly expanding International Engineering Firm with regional operations here in Cyprus, we are seeking to recruit a Senior Accountant to join their growing team based in Limassol. Working closely with Senior Management, you will maintain and oversee daily accounting activities, ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Our client is seeking applicants who hold approximately 5+ years of experience in a relevant accounting role, and holders of, or those working towards any professional accounting qualification are encouraged to apply. You will need to be fluent in Greek and English, with any specific experience working with E-Soft accounting software considered an advantage. An attractive remuneration package is on offer based on skills and experience, and standard working hours are from 08:00 – 17:00 from Monday to Friday.
 

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Maintain and oversee the general accounting system and accounting records.
• Record, review, and reconcile all financial transactions.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts.
• Process and oversee monthly payroll.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare documentation for external auditors.
• Liaise with external auditors and provide all required financial information during audits.
• Input and maintain accounting data within the accounting software.
• Ensure accurate recording of invoices, receipts, payments, journal entries, and payroll transactions.
• Generate financial and management reports as required.
• Monitor cash flow, manage petty cash, and assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and statutory requirements.
• Maintain effective internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Support continuous improvement of finance processes and systems.
• Provide financial analysis and support to management when required.

 

Key Skills/Experience: 

• Educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, Economic or similar.
• Full members of a recognised accounting body are encouraged to apply.
• 5+ years of relevant experience is essential.
• Fluency in Greek and English.
• Experience working with E-Soft Accounting software is highly desirable.
• Any prior experience working as an accounting in the Engineering and/or Construction sector will be considered an advantage.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
