Role in brief
The Hedge Fund Risk Associate Analyst is responsible for supporting the production and maintenance of client portfolio risk reports using Albourne's proprietary systems. The role involves analysing investment data, maintaining portfolio information, responding to client enquiries, and ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of risk reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with clients and internal teams to support portfolio monitoring, risk analysis, and customised reporting requirements.
Insights to the Role
Client Portfolio Risk Reporting
- Generate and maintain monthly client risk reports using Albourne's proprietary systems.
- Review client-provided data and identify discrepancies, missing information, or data quality issues that may affect reporting accuracy.
- Ensure all reports are produced accurately and delivered within established deadlines.
- Respond to portfolio-related and risk-related client enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
Portfolio Data Management
- Collect, review, and validate portfolio data, including:
- Monthly fund performance returns
- Fund market values and balances
- Investor subscriptions and redemptions
- Monitor fund strategy classifications, regional exposures, benchmarks, and market indices used in risk calculations.
- Apply appropriate proxies and assumptions where required to support analytical models and reporting.
Portfolio Setup and Analysis
- Build new client portfolios and maintain existing portfolios within the firm's internal database systems.
- Configure appropriate benchmarks and comparison indices for investment funds, consulting senior analysts when necessary.
- Support the production of customised portfolio analyses and reporting solutions.
Client Support and Ad Hoc Requests
- Manage and respond to risk-related requests received through the team's ticketing system.
- Provide support to clients using Albourne Portfolio Manager and assist with portfolio-related queries.
- Deliver customised analysis and reporting, including:
- Excel-based reporting solutions
- Risk metric analysis and validation
- Automated reporting tools and spreadsheets
Research and Continuous Improvement
- Develop and maintain knowledge of investment strategies and financial markets.
- Keep up to date with internal systems, processes, and database enhancements.
- Participate in testing activities associated with system updates and improvements.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to client portfolios and reporting activities.
Who You Are
Analytical & Financial Knowledge
- Good understanding of statistical concepts, including distribution moments, hypothesis testing, and linear regression.
- Understanding of investment finance concepts such as portfolio risk and return, factor models, derivative payoffs, and optionality will be considered an advantage.
Communication & Personal Attributes
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with a proactive and self-motivated approach.
- Fluent English and computer literacy are essential requirements.

- Willingness to attend company events as required.
- Ability to sign and comply with the terms of Albourne's Compliance Manuals.
- Eligible to work in Cyprus without Visa Sponsorship
