IT Support Officer
Job Description
Solve problems. Help people. Make technology work better.
Technology is part of almost everything we do. As an IT Support Officer, you’ll help our people stay productive by solving technical problems, supporting the technology they rely on every day, and making sure things work when they need them to.
You’ll be hands-on, working across end-user devices, Microsoft 365, workplace technology and IT projects. You’ll work closely with our IT teams, take ownership of problems, and have a direct impact on how people experience technology at Cablenet.
What you will do:
- Be there when technology gets in the way. Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support to employees across office and remote locations, taking ownership of incidents and service requests through to resolution and keeping the user experience at the centre of every interaction.
- Solve the problem, not just the symptom. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, application, and connectivity issues within agreed service levels. Investigate root causes, and involve the right specialist teams when an issue requires further expertise.
- Make everyday work easier. Support Microsoft 365 services including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and other productivity tools. Manage user accounts, access permissions, and identity-related requests through Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID, while supporting endpoint and mobile device management through Microsoft Intune and related platforms.
- Keep devices ready to go. Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot laptops, desktops, printers, mobile devices, phones, and collaboration equipment throughout their lifecycle.
- Keep workplace technology reliable. Monitor workplace IT systems and devices, carry out routine maintenance, and support the availability and performance of the IT environment.
- Help keep Cablenet secure. Support cybersecurity initiatives through endpoint security, patch management, vulnerability remediation, access controls, and the consistent application of security best practices.
- Know what we have and where it is. Maintain accurate IT asset inventories, software licensing records, and equipment lifecycle information so that our technology estate remains organised and under control.
- Make knowledge shareable. Create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, troubleshooting procedures, and knowledge base articles so that solutions are captured and accessible to both IT colleagues and employees.
- Build what’s next. Participate in IT projects, technology rollouts, upgrades, migrations, and service improvement initiatives, helping deliver changes that improve the employee experience and the way IT operates.
- Work smarter, together. Collaborate with Infrastructure, Network, Security, Service Delivery, and NOC teams to resolve incidents and improve service quality, while identifying opportunities to automate repetitive tasks using tools such as PowerShell and modern AI-powered workplace technologies.
The technologies you will work with:
- Microsoft workplace technologies: Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory and Intune
- Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN and wireless
- Endpoint & security: Device management, endpoint protection, patching and vulnerability remediation
- IT Service Management: ITSM and ticketing platforms
- Modern workplace: VoIP, Unified Communications, PowerShell, automation and Microsoft Copilot
You will succeed in this role if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in IT Support, Service Desk, or End User Computing environments.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10/11 administration and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience supporting and administering Microsoft 365 services.
- Good knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Good understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, VPN technologies, and wireless networking.
- Experience working with IT Service Management and ticketing systems.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles, endpoint security, patch management, and good security practices.
- A structured and analytical approach to troubleshooting, with the ability to investigate issues and identify root causes.
- A customer-focused mindset and the ability to communicate technical issues clearly to people with different levels of technical knowledge.
- The ability to prioritise, manage multiple requests, and remain effective when things get busy.
- Excellent command of both Greek and English.
It’s a plus if you have:
- Microsoft certifications such as MD-102, MS-102, AZ-900, SC-900, or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, and device lifecycle management.
- Experience supporting VoIP and Unified Communications platforms.
- Basic scripting or automation experience using PowerShell.
- Knowledge of ITIL Service Management practices.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot, AI-powered workplace productivity tools, and modern collaboration technologies.
