Job Description

Junior Accountant

Main tasks and responsibilities:

Update accounts receivable and payable
Assist accounts department in the preparation of monthly and yearly closing procedures
Record transactions in the accounting system either manually or handle any electronic uploading of transaction files
Carry out bank and client account reconciliations
Carry out bank payments to other business associates
Maintain proper accounting books and records in company’s accounting system
Post journal entries
Prepare weekly and monthly reports
Other accounting related functions as required by the company
Preparation and submission of VAT/VIES returns for local companies.

Education:

Degree in Accounting
LCCI higher certificate and/or practical working experience

Skills:

Experience in similar role
Knowledge in accounting principles and practices
Attention to detail
Able to meet deadlines
Ability to work in a dynamic environment
Communication, organizational and analytical skills
Knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer and accounting software
SoftOne (ERP System) knowledge will be considered as an advantage
Willingness to learn, work in a team while at the same time working alone to fulfil workloads
