CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an established provider of Payment Solutions with regional offices in Cyprus, we are seeking to recruit a Junior Software Engineer to join their growing team based in Nicosia. As a Junior Software Engineer, you will work as part of a hands-on engineering team responsible for the implementation, customization, and ongoing support of a Card Management System (CMS). As part of your role, you will develop, debug, and enhance C/C++ components running on Linux in a high-availability production environment. Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in a relevant field of study, who possess strong C/C++ development knowledge, along with basic Unix/Linux proficiency. Any prior experience working with Oracle PL/SQL or SQL in a transactional/banking context is desirable, but not essential. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Analyze requirements and design solutions across the card lifecycle and merchant acquiring.
• Develop, debug, and enhance C/C++ components running on Linux in a high-availability production environment.
• Write and optimize Oracle PL/SQL procedures supporting card operations and reporting.
• Collaborate with client-facing teams and external vendors during implementation and integration phases.
• Participate in system-level troubleshooting and production support.

 

Key Skills/Experience: 

• An academic background in Computer Science, or another related field.
• Strong C/C++ development knowledge.
• Basic Unix/Linux proficiency.
• Fluency in English.
• Willingness to travel internationally as required.
• Experience with Oracle PL/SQL or SQL in a transactional/banking context is desirable.
• Exposure to payments industry concepts (card schemes, ISO 8583, EMV, PCI-DSS) will be considered a plus.
• Prior work on CMS, switching, or payment processing platforms will be considered an advantage.
