The Client
The Architectural Lighting Department of a well-established local Retail company.
Responsibilities
A unique opportunity for a Lighting Design professional. The successful candidate will report directly to the Department’s General Managers. Main responsibilities include:
• Lighting design: Creates lighting design plans that meet the project’s needs, taking into account the type of space, the desired aesthetic outcome and functionality
• Provide excellent consulting services on lighting matters to clients
• Collaborate with clients and other team members to understand project needs and propose suitable lighting solutions
• Provide the technical specifications of lighting fixtures proposed for each project and participates in presenting lighting solutions
• May participate in supervising the installation of the lighting to ensure compliance with the design specifications
• Collect product specifications in collaboration with the Purchasing Department
• Guide the activities of the Project Managers
• Monitor and follow up on the project from initial assignment to the maintenance stage as Lighting Designer (after sales)
• Represent the Department and participates in client and supplier events
• Conduct lighting studies to ensure that the proposals comply with safety codes and customer requirements
• Use specialized software to calculate lighting distribution and ensure that the lighting is appropriate for the type and purpose of the space
• Collaborate with architects, designers, interior designers and other professionals in construction and design stages
• Provide support after the completion of the sales process and ensures the quality of after-sales support offered to clients
• Visit client sites or construction sites whenever needed
• In collaboration with the sales department, continuously update knowledge of new lighting technologies and participates in seminars and training related to new market trends
Profile of the ideal candidate
• University degree in Lighting Design, Architecture, Interior Design or a related field
• At least 3-4 years of experience in a role with similar responsibilities
• Experience as a Project Manager, Lighting Engineer/Designer, Interior Designer or a related position, within the Lighting industry
• Very good interpersonal and communication skills
• A critical thinker with a commercial mindset
• A creative mind with out-of-the-box thinking skills
• Dynamic, with an ability to take initiatives, strategies, solve problems and deliver high-quality results
• Very good knowledge of both Greek and English.
