Mid-Level Property Lawyer – Philippou Law Firm
Philippou Law Firm is seeking a motivated and commercially minded Mid-Level Property Lawyer with 2–4 years of relevant post-qualification experience to join our Property Department at our Paphos office.
The successful candidate will work on a broad range of residential and commercial property matters, acting for both local and international clients and working closely with the Partners and other members of the Property Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advising clients on residential and commercial property transactions.
- Handling property acquisitions, disposals, transfers and related legal matters from initial instruction through to completion.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating sale and purchase agreements, reservation agreements, assignment agreements and other property-related documentation.
- Conducting legal due diligence on immovable property, including title deed, encumbrance and Land Registry searches.
- Advising clients on contractual, title, planning and other legal issues arising in property transactions.
- Liaising with the Department of Lands and Surveys, developers, estate agents, banks, surveyors, architects and other professionals.
- Attending and handling property transfers and other procedures before the relevant authorities.
- Managing a portfolio of property matters independently while ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met.
- Maintaining direct communication with clients and providing clear, practical and commercially focused legal advice.
- Supporting Partners on more complex property transactions and related legal matters.
Requirements:
- Qualified lawyer with 2–4 years of post-qualification experience, preferably with substantial exposure to property and real estate matters.
- Strong knowledge of Cyprus property law and conveyancing procedures.
- Experience in drafting and reviewing property-related agreements.
- Experience dealing with the Department of Lands and Surveys and relevant governmental authorities.
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
- Strong drafting, analytical and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage matters independently and work effectively under deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and a professional, client-focused approach.
- Commercial awareness and ability to provide practical solutions to clients.
