Job Description
The University of Limassol (UoL) is a dynamic and forward-looking institution committed to excellence in education, research, innovation, and community engagement. As part of its strategic expansion, the University is establishing its School of Dentistry and invites applications for the position of Director of the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programme.
As the School develops its foundational academic offerings, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced academic to lead the management, delivery, and quality assurance of the undergraduate dental programme.
The Director will play a key role in ensuring that the BDS programme delivers a rigorous, integrated educational experience combining theoretical knowledge with high-level clinical competence.
Key Responsibilities
Program Management: Oversee the day-to-day academic and administrative operations of the Bachelor of Dental Surgery program, ensuring effective curriculum delivery and alignment with international standards.
Quality Assurance: Lead program evaluation and continuous improvement processes, ensuring compliance with accreditation requirements.
Clinical Training Coordination: Work closely with clinical leads to ensure that student rotations and practical training meet all safety, ethical, and professional requirements.
Student Progression & Support: Monitor student performance and provide academic guidance and mentorship to support successful outcomes.
Research & Scholarly Activity: Maintain an active research profile and contribute to the School’s research output, while fostering student engagement in research.
Essential Qualifications
Academic Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Dentistry and a Doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in Dental Sciences or a closely related medical discipline. The candidate must hold the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
Research Portfolio: A solid record of research and publications, demonstrating a commitment to advancing the field of dental sciences.
Educational Leadership Experience: Experience in programme management and undergraduate teaching within a dental education environment.
Teaching & Mentorship: Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and mentoring of students.
