Science Communicator — The Cyprus Planetarium

The Cyprus Planetarium is looking for enthusiastic and motivated Science Communicators to join our team and help us bring science closer to everyone.

We are looking for people who are not only passionate about science, but also excited about sharing knowledge, inspiring curiosity and supporting or creating meaningful educational experiences. We welcome individuals from a wide range of scientific, educational and communication backgrounds, including scientists, educators, researchers, journalists and other professionals with a strong interest in science communication and STEAM education.

The Role

As a Science Communicator, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a diverse range of educational and public-engagement projects. Depending on your interests, experience and the needs of each project, your work may include:

• Delivering science presentations, educational activities and interactive experiences
• Supporting planetarium shows, astronomy activities (telescopes) and public events
• Participating in school visits, workshops and STEAM programmes
• Communicating astronomy and other scientific subjects to children, families and adult academic audiences
• Contributing to the development of educational content, activities, events and new projects
• Working both independently and collaboratively as part of multidisciplinary teams

The position requires flexibility and adaptability, as working hours and schedules vary according to the nature and timing of events and projects. We value the interdisciplinary nature of STEAM and are particularly interested in people who enjoy transforming scientific ideas into experiences that are accessible, engaging and memorable.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for candidates who are fluent in both Greek and English, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Fluency in any additional language will be considered an advantage.

Previous experience in science communication, education or public engagement is valuable, but equally important are curiosity, reliability, creativity, willingness to learn and genuine enthusiasm for communicating science.

You should feel comfortable working with different audiences and enjoy both collaborative teamwork and taking responsibility for individual tasks and projects.
