Senior Chef / Chef de Cuisine
Job Description
We are an established Italian restaurant in Nicosia looking for an experienced Senior Chef to join our kitchen team. You will work alongside our existing chef, leading service on your shifts, contributing to menu development, and helping raise the technical standards of our kitchen. This is a part-time role, ideal for an experienced professional who wants meaningful kitchen responsibility without full-time hours.
Schedule
• 3 to 4 evening shifts per week (days flexible, to be agreed)
• Approximately 5 hours per shift, covering dinner service from 18:30 to 23:00
• Restaurant is open 7 evenings a week — shifts will be coordinated with our existing chef
What we are looking for
• Minimum 5 years' experience in Italian cuisine, ideally trained in Italy or under an Italian chef
• Strong technical skills:classic Italian sauces, regional Italian cuisine
• Previous experience as Sous Chef, Chef de Cuisine, or similar leadership role
• Calm, professional kitchen presence — we lead through standards and teaching, not through shouting
• Ability to work collaboratively with our existing chef and develop the rest of the team
• Good understanding of food cost control (target food cost 27%)
• EU work authorisation or valid Cyprus work permit
