Job Description
CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a leading independent Cyprus law firm based in Nicosia, advising local and international clients on complex legal and regulatory matters across a broad range of industries and regulated sectors, we are seeking to recruit a Senior Lawyer with substantial experience in financial regulation to join their growing practice. As a Senior Lawyer, you will work closely with partners and clients on a wide range of regulatory and advisory matters involving regulated financial services entities in Cyprus and internationally. Our client is seeking applicants who are qualified lawyers, who possess approximately 7+ years of post-qualification experience, with a strong and demonstrable background in financial services regulation. You will need to have proven experience advising regulated entities and international clients, and have excellent drafting and communication skills in English. Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on relevant Banking Regulations.
- Provide regulatory advice relating to the Payment Services Directive (PSD), Payment Institutions & Electronic Money Institutions (EMIs).
- Provide regulatory advice to Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) and fund managers.
- Provide regulatory advice relating to MiFID and Cyprus Investment Firms (CIFs).
- Draft and review regulatory documentation, policies and agreements.
- Conduct licensing, regulatory compliance and ongoing advisory matters to clients.
- Carry out regulatory interaction with the Central Bank of Cyprus and CySEC.
Key Skills/Experience:
- Qualified lawyer admitted in Cyprus or another recognised jurisdiction.
- Minimum 7 years’ relevant post-qualification experience.
- Strong background in financial services regulation.
- Experience advising regulated entities and international clients.
- Excellent drafting and communication skills in English.
- Commercial awareness and strong analytical ability.
- Ability to manage matters independently and work collaboratively within a team.
