Senior Social Media Manager
Job Description
The Senior Social Media Manager is responsible for leading and growing the Group’s global social media presence across Marketing, Events and Group communications. This role focuses on increasing brand visibility, improving audience engagement and ensuring a consistent and high-quality presence across all platforms.
This role leads and owns the full social media department, from strategy and planning through to execution and performance tracking. It oversees and drives the social media strategy across the Group, including the Marketing Agency, Events and Employer Branding, ensuring a consistent and high-impact presence across all channels.
Working cross-functionally, the role ensures that all social media activity is aligned with business and marketing objectives, with a strong focus on supporting the promotion of the Group’s events and products. It drives performance, optimizes content and campaigns based on data and insights, and ensures continuous improvement across all social media initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media Strategy & Leadership
- Lead and manage the overall social media strategy across Marketing, Events, and Group functions
- Develop clear social media plans that support business and growth objectives
- Ensure all social media activity is aligned with the Group’s brand and messaging
- Act as the main point of contact and expert for all social media matters
Content Planning & Management
- Oversee social media calendars across teams and divisions
- Guide content creation to ensure it is engaging, relevant, and high quality
- Provide clear direction and briefs to content, design, and marketing teams
- Ensure consistency in tone, style, and messaging across all platforms
- Support and guide social media planning for events and campaigns
Performance & Reporting
- Define and track key performance indicators for social media
- Monitor performance across all platforms and make improvements based on data
- Share regular performance reports with management, including insights and recommendations
- Continuously optimize content and strategy to improve results
Campaign Execution
- Plan and manage social media campaigns to increase awareness, engagement, and conversions
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure campaigns are aligned and delivered on time
- Support the promotion of events, products, and brand initiatives
Community Management
- Oversee social media inboxes and ensure timely and professional responses
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the online community
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and manage the social media team, providing clear direction and priorities
- Set goals and KPIs, ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Support, coach, and develop team members to drive performance
- Ensure high-quality output and strong collaboration across teams
Innovation & Trends
- Stay up to date with social media trends, tools, and platform updates
- Suggest and test new ideas to improve performance and engagement
- Create content when needed, including quick, real-time content
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in social media management, with at least 2 years in a senior or leadership role
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Proven experience managing multiple brands, business units, or large-scale social media accounts
- Experience delivering social media strategies that drive measurable business results
- Strong background in campaign planning and performance tracking
- Experience working with cross-functional teams
- Experience in events, exhibitions, or B2B marketing is a plus
