Job Description

Cyprus Trading Corporation Plc, a leading Group, based in Cyprus, that owns and controls a number of companies, each specialising in a specific industry, seeks to recruit a highly motivated individual for the position of Senior Systems Engineer in Nicosia.

 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Study and understand all current and upcoming system requirements.

· Support development and implementation of new technologies.

· Coordinate with Group Affiliated companies IT Managers to design effective solutions that meet                 requirements for functionality and integration with existing components.

· Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.

· Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management         tools.

· Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.

· Maintain backups and redundancy strategies.

· Laise with Cyber Security Officer for security best practices on relevant subjects.

· Compose and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention       time on any tasks.

· Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.

· Provide support when necessary.

· Analyse current technologies used within the company and determine ways to improve.

· Document and monitor requirements needed to institute proposed updates.

· Work closely with Information Technology professionals within the Group to ensure the hardware is           available for projects and working properly.

· Propose and establish a framework for necessary contributions from various departments.

· Account for possible project challenges on constraints including, risks, time, resources and scope.

· Work closely with project management teams to successfully monitor the progress of initiatives.

· Provide detailed specifications for the proposed solution.

· Define clear goals for all aspects of a project and manage their proper execution.

 

KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, or related discipline

• At least 5 years of experience as System Engineer or Senior System Administrator

• Proven knowledge in administration & implementation of Microsoft Windows Servers and Linux / Unix technologies

• Microsoft Cloud Technologies

• Administration, Implementation, and maintenance of Databases (such as MS SQL, Postgre)

• Deep knowledge on Virtualization Technologies (VMWARE, Hyper-V)

• Any Microsoft professional certification will be considered an advantage

• Knowledge of various storage technologies (such as NetApp, HP, IBM)

• Must be detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills

• Excellent time and task management skills

• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment

• Ability to perform duties with moderate to low supervision

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English & Greek)
