Social Media Officer
Job Description
The Social Media Officer is responsible for end-to-end content creation and management across social media platforms, including static posts, video content, and real-time event coverage, to enhance brand visibility, engage audiences, and drive traffic.
This role is highly creative and execution-focused, requiring strong skills in design, video editing, and storytelling, as well as a solid understanding of digital marketing trends and audience behavior.
Duties and Responsibilities
Content Creation and Management:
- Develop and execute social media content plans aligned with the company's marketing strategy.
- Create high-quality static posts, short-form videos, reels, and storiesand publish engaging content (text, images, videos, graphics) tailored for each platform.
- Design visuals and edit videos using tools such as Canva, CapCut, or similar platforms.
- Ensure all content adheres to the brand's tone, voice, and style guidelines.
- Adapt content formats for different platforms
Social Media Strategy and Execution:
- Manage content calendars, ad hoc day-to-day posting, scheduling, and monitoring of content across platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn).
- Work closely with the marketing team to ensure consistent messaging and branding.
Event Coverage and On-Site Content Creation:
- Attend and cover company events, seminars, and activities, capturing live content (photos, videos, stories).
- Produce real-time social media updates during events.
Repurpose event content into post-event materials (highlights, recap videos, posts).
Community Management:
- Engage with followers, respond to comments and messages promptly and professionally.
- Monitor online conversations and participate where relevant to build relationships and manage the brand's online reputation.
Analytics and Reporting:
- Track and analyze key performance metrics (e.g., reach, engagement, conversions) using tools like Google Analytics, Hootsuite, or Sprout Social.
- Prepare regular performance reports and provide actionable insights to optimize strategies.
Trend Monitoring:
- Stay updated on social media trends, algorithm changes, especially short-form video trends and content formats.
- Suggest innovative ideas to boost audience engagement and brand presence.
- Campaigns and Collaborations:
- Assist in planning and executing social media campaigns, contests, and promotions.
- Collaborate with influencers, content creators, and other third parties to expand brand reach.Compliance and Crisis Management.
Ensure all content and activities comply with relevant laws, guidelines, and company policies.
Address potential crises swiftly and professionally in collaboration with PR and management teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Digital Marketing, Social Media, Multimedia Design. or a related field.
- Proven experience in managing social media accounts for a brand or organization.
- Experience with social media advertising and campaign management is a plus.
- Proficiency in social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, , YouTube).
- Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g.,Google Analytics, Meta ).
- Basic graphic design and video editing skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite, CapCut).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Additional Competencies:
- Knowledge of SEO and web traffic metrics.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to interpret analytics and make data-backed decisions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
