Software Engineering Specialist (Russian Speaking)

There are 3 products running on premises in Mobile operators’ data centers and in the cloud, with tens of installations all over the world:
Product 1: Handling mobile calls, forwarding or rejecting, charging them.
Product 2: Handling mobile data sessions, doing protocol conversion, session correlation, hiding network topology.
Product 3: Sending notifications to subscribers via SMS, email, push and other protocol, based on incoming requests, remote servers’ availability.
All these products are designed for network intensive communication, are based on event driven application server and handle tens of thousands of operations per second.
What will your job look like?
- Maintain and operate internal engineering tools including Jira, Confluence, GitLab, SonarQube, Jenkins, Testlink.
- Administer users, projects, permissions, workflows, repositories, and configurations across owned platforms.
- Maintain and improve build (VMS written in Perl with Oracle DB usage) and auto test infrastructure(JATF).
- Maintain OpenStack environment: configuration, upgrade, hardware resource allocation, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Provision and manage VMware-based test environments, including reusable VM templates.
- Install Oracle.
- Maintain Oracle as DBA - manage and clean tablespaces, tune performance, manage security.
- Support and optimize security scanning workflows (FOSS and Checkmarx), including CI/CD integration.
- Maintain core network services such as NIS, NFS, routing tables.
- Configure Apache, NGINX and SSL certificates.
- Perform deep troubleshooting of infrastructure, application, and network issues in collaboration with IT/Network teams.
All you need is...
- Strong Linux administration experience (RHEL preferred): services, patching, backups, performance troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Oracle on DBA level.
- Hands-on experience operating self-hosted engineering tools and their underlying stacks:
- Jira Server: MySQL + Apache Web Server
- Confluence Server: MySQL + Apache + Tomcat
- GitLab Server: NGINX (and GitLab services)
- SonarQube Server: SonarQube + plugins + Oracle
- Testlink: PHP + Apache + MySQL
- Experience with OpenStack operations: configuration, upgrades, optimization, quotas/projects/users, resource allocation.
- Experience with VMware provisioning and lifecycle management for test environments; ability to maintain VM templates.
- Good networking fundamentals and troubleshooting: IP addressing, subnetting/masking, routing basics, DNS concepts.
- Experience maintaining Apache and NGINX configurations, including TLS/SSL certificate deployment.
- Strong incident troubleshooting and RCA skills across application + OS + network layers; ability to document and operationalize fixes.
Good to have:
- Build infrastructure stack exposure: Apache WS, Tomcat WS, Perl, Bash scripting.
- CI/CD and automation: Jenkins, Groovy, Bash/Python scripting; workflow improvements and scheduling.
- Security enablement experience: FOSS compliance scanning and Checkmarx process automation.
- Experience leveraging AI tools for operational efficiency, workflow optimization, troubleshooting support, and knowledge‑base creation, with awareness of security and data‑handling considerations.
- NIS and NFS architecture knowledge with practical maintenance experience.
- Experience creating golden/base VM images and hardening OS templates.
- Observability: monitoring/logging/alerting practices for internal platforms.
- Ability to ramp-up quickly via internal knowledge transfer (KT) and convert KT into runbooks and SOPs.
