Job Description

DM Supermarket is preparing to open a new 500–1,000 m² supermarket in Limassol. We are looking for an experienced supermarket professional to help establish the business and lead daily operations after opening.

This is a hands-on role with involvement from the planning stage. Premises selection is underway, and the opening date is being finalized.

Responsibilities

• Assess potential premises and advise on layout, storage, deliveries and operational suitability.
• Support store setup and coordinate with equipment suppliers and fit-out contractors.
• Establish supplier relationships, compare quotations and negotiate purchasing terms.
• Plan the opening product range, stock quantities, pricing and replenishment.
• Recruit, train and schedule the store team.
• Establish procedures for receiving goods, stock control, expiry dates, cash handling and food safety.
• Manage daily operations, customer service, sales, gross margins, waste and operating costs.
• Report performance and improvement opportunities directly to the owner.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a supermarket manager or deputy manager with substantial operational responsibility.
• Previous store-opening or refurbishment experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience in Cyprus grocery retail and knowledge of local suppliers are highly desirable.
• Practical knowledge of purchasing, inventory control, merchandising and fresh/chilled food handling.
• Ability to manage staff and work with sales, margin and cost targets.
• Working proficiency in Greek and English.
• Availability to work on-site in Limassol and flexibility for supermarket operating hours.

What we offer

• Gross monthly salary of €2,000–€2,800, depending on experience.
• Start date and pre-opening working arrangements to be agreed.
