On behalf of our client, a well-established and professional accounting, audit, tax, and advisory firm based in Nicosia, we are seeking to recruit an experienced and highly motivated Tax Associate to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional with strong knowledge of Tax and VAT legislation, solid client-facing experience, and the ability to support and supervise junior team members within a professional and structured working environment.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a broad range of Tax and VAT matters, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and regulations, preparing and submitting relevant tax documentation, and providing tax-related support and advice according to client requirements.
The position also includes responsibility for allocating work to junior team members, supervising their progress, and supporting their professional development through mentoring, training, and coaching.
The ideal candidate will combine strong technical tax knowledge with excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and people-development skills.
Key Responsibilities
• Undertake Tax and VAT work assigned by the company
• Ensure compliance with applicable Tax and VAT laws, regulations, and procedures
• Prepare, complete, and file all relevant tax forms and documentation accurately and within required deadlines
• Handle Tax and VAT matters for a portfolio of clients
• Provide Tax and VAT consulting services according to individual client requirements
• Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, associates, and relevant authorities
• Respond to client enquiries and provide appropriate tax-related guidance and support
• Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to Tax and VAT matters
• Monitor deadlines and ensure timely completion of assigned work
• Allocate tasks and responsibilities to junior members of the team
• Review and supervise work performed by junior staff
• Mentor, coach, train, and support junior team members in their professional development
• Provide guidance to junior staff on technical and procedural Tax/VAT matters
• Work closely with colleagues to ensure efficient delivery of client services
• Participate in additional company projects and assignments when required
• Maintain high professional standards, confidentiality, and accuracy across all client work
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or another relevant field
• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in Tax and/or VAT
• ADIT qualification will be considered an advantage
• Excellent understanding of fundamental accounting principles
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of Tax and VAT legislation
• Strong practical experience handling Tax/VAT compliance matters and relevant documentation
• Excellent command of Greek and English, both written and spoken
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and strong general computer literacy
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, priorities, and deadlines effectively
• Strong professional communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
• Strong mentoring, coaching, and training capabilities
• Ability to allocate and supervise work effectively
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet demanding deadlines
