Job Description

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Install, maintain, perform preventative maintenance on, and recommend replacement of tools, appliances and equipment.
• Fix plumbing problems such as unclogging drains.
• Assemble pipe sections, tubing, and fittings.
• Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air to detect and locate leaks.
• Review blueprints, building codes, and specifications.
• Study building plan and inspect structure in order plan installations.
• Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angle. Install and maintain pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances, and fixtures.
• Perform miscellaneous repairs.
• Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment.
• Calibrate all controls, gauges, meters, etc. Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves.
• Order, mark, and stock parts and supplies as needed.
• Maintain inventory and purchase orders log. Inspect tools, equipment, or machines.
• Enter and locate work-related information using computers.
• Operate power lift.
• Complete the life safety checklist, including the fire-pump run test and generator run test.
• Inspect fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems.
• Observe and test system operation, using gauges and instruments.
• Adjust valves according to specifications and charge system with proper type of refrigerant by pumping the specified gas or fluid into the system.
• Test lines, components, and connections for leaks.
• Adjust or replace worn or defective mechanisms and parts and reassemble repaired systems.
• Dismantle malfunctioning systems and test components, using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic testing equipment.
• Braze or solder parts to repair defective joints and leaks.
• Perform mechanical overhauls and refrigerant reclaiming.
• Keep records of repairs and replacements made and causes of malfunctions.
• Install expansion and control valves, using acetylene torches and wrenches.
• Install wiring to connect components to an electric power source.
• Mount compressor, condenser, and other components in specified locations on frames, using hand tools and acetylene welding equipment.
• Fabricate and assemble structural and functional components of refrigeration system, using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
• Drill holes and install mounting brackets and hangers into floor and walls of building.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor`s/Diploma in Engineering or Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
• 5+ years’ experience in the same position or similar role in hotel industry
• Ability to multi-task in a busy environment and adhere to hotel Standard Operating Procedures.
• Good Knowledge of English Language, both oral and written
• Strong working knowledge of hotel kitchen and refrigeration equipment
• Committed to deliver high customer service.
