THE COMPANYOn behalf of our client, a leading International Group of Companies operating within the petroleum and energy sector, we are seeking to recruit a high calibre professional for the position of General Ledger Supervisor, to be based in Nicosia.&nbsp;THE POSITIONThe successful candidate will report to the Finance Manager and will be responsible for managing and coordinating the accounting activities of the organisation. More specifically, the responsibilities of the successful candidate will be the following, amongst other:<ul><li>Supervise the day-to-day accounting operations including, among others, billing, accounts receivable and payable, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory accounting and revenue recognition</li><li>Perform and/or review general ledger end-of-period close activities including, among others, review of journal entries, bank and stock reconciliations etc.</li><li>Ensure timely preparation of monthly consolidated management accounts and cash-flow management reports</li><li>Oversee effectively VAT and tax matters in full compliance with Cyprus tax and VAT laws</li><li>Develop accounting policies and procedures aligned with the organisation’s goals, ensuring adherence to established standards</li><li>Maintain effective internal controls and ensure compliance with International Financial Standards (IFRS), applicable laws and regulations and company policies</li><li>Supervise and coordinate the preparation of external audit materials and liaise with auditors</li><li>Prepare both regular and ad-hoc management reports to support decision-making.</li><li>Provide guidance and support to his/her team to ensure maximum performance</li><li>Perform other accounting and finance related tasks as requested</li></ul>REQUIREMENTS<ul><li>University degree in Accounting, Finance or in a related field</li><li>Professional qualification ACA / ACCA / CPA / CIMA, etc.</li><li>At least five (5) years post qualification experience in a similar position</li><li>Understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Cyprus tax principles</li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills</li><li>Effective management skills and ability to provide direction to his/her team</li><li>Strong critical thinking and analytical skills</li><li>Strong attention to detail</li><li>Advanced planning and organisational skills and ability to effectively manage complex tasks</li><li>Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines</li><li>Excellent knowledge of the Greek and English languages, both written and verbal</li><li>Excellent computer literacy.
