Production Supervisor
Job Description
Job Purpose
The purpose of this position is to plan, organise, and supervise production personnel and operations in order to achieve optimal productivity, while ensuring that all assigned tasks are completed in accordance with approved specifications, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluate the performance of team members, identify training and development needs, review time and attendance records, and process leave applications.
- Confirm the adequacy and availability of equipment and facilities, taking corrective action when required.
- Perform regular visual and operational checks on equipment and facilities, ensuring compliance with product quality requirements.
- Monitor individual and departmental performance, assess results, and report departmental performance through defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Collaborate with the Planning Department to issue, implement, and follow up on weekly departmental production schedules.
- Ensure that all official documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure the timely review of departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and prepare new SOPs when required.
- Organise and participate in intradepartmental meetings.
- Train personnel on guidelines, procedures, and technical requirements based on organisational needs and performance evaluation outcomes.
- Initiate and monitor disciplinary actions within the department when necessary, in accordance with company policies.
- Prepare official annual departmental reports for submission to the Head of Factory as part of the annual review process.
- Conduct investigations and prepare relevant reports as required.
- Ensure that all tasks and procedures are performed in compliance with established regulations and guidelines, including SOPs and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in in Chemical Engineering or another related field.
- Masters’ degree will be considered an advantage.
- Previous experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment is considered an advantage, ideally including supervisory or team‑leading exposure.
- Strong leadership, ability to supervise and motivate employees, manage conflict, and work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
- Problem‑solving skills, decision‑making capability, and attention to detail under time pressure.
- Excellent knowledge of Greek & English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
