As part of our continuous growth, we are seeking a Accountant for our showroom in Engomi.
The role:
The Accountant will handle the company's day-to-day bookkeeping, monthly payroll and statutory tax submissions, working closely with management and our external advisors.
Position: Accountant (full-time, onsite)
Location: Nicosia, Cyprus
Reports to: Head of Accounting
Key responsibilities:
Accounting and bookkeeping
Maintain the general ledger: sales and purchase invoices, receipts, payments and accruals
Perform bank, supplier and customer reconciliations
Support month-end and year-end closing and prepare schedules for the external advisors and auditors
Payroll
Prepare and process monthly payroll, including PAYE, Social Insurance and GHS (GeSY) deductions
Record payroll entries in the accounting system and reconcile payroll accounts
Prepare monthly Social Insurance submissions and annual employee certificates (IR63)
Tax compliance
Prepare and submit VAT returns and VIES statements
Prepare the employer's return (IR7), provisional tax (IR6) and support the corporate tax return (IR4)
Monitor tax deadlines and keep records in line with Cyprus Tax Department requirements
What we're looking for:
Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
Minimum 5 years' experience in accounting or bookkeeping, ideally in a trading or commercial company.
Working knowledge of Cyprus tax forms and submissions (VAT, Social Insurance, Tax Department)
Hands-on experience with payroll preparation and recording would be considered an advantage
Good command of accounting software and MS Excel
Fluent in Greek and English, written and spoken
Eager to learn, organised, accurate and able to meet deadlines
