Accounting Officer

The Client

Our client is a leading Cypriot investment holding company listed on the Cyprus Stock Exchange, with a diversified portfolio spanning real estate, and other private equity investments.

Job Overview

We are looking to recruit an Accounting Officer to join their Accounting Department in Nicosia. The role involves handling financial entries and records for the Company, ensuring accurate presentation of financial results and full compliance with accounting standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Monitor, review, process company expenses and taxes, calculate and post accrued expenses and income
• Issue invoices for services rendered to clients and monitor collection of outstanding amounts
• Monitor bank accounts, perform reconciliations, and post all entries to the General Ledger, manage company bank balances
• Calculate, prepare, and submit VAT returns in compliance with applicable legislation
• Assist in the preparation of management accounts, financial statements, budgets, statistical data, and analyses
• Monitor the company's investment portfolio and confirm its value is accurately reflected in the books
• Perform General Ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
• Maintain the fixed asset registry to ensure accurate recording of company assets
• Review payroll and process payments for Social Insurance and Income Tax to the relevant authorities
• Liaise with banking institutions on charges and account-related matters
• Support external and internal auditors during audit processes
• Carry out any additional tasks assigned by the line manager

Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
• Degree in Accounting or Certified Accounting Technician or LCCI Higher in Accounting
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Methodical, organised, reliable, and trustworthy
• Excellent command of both Greek and English, written and spoken

Location: 

The position is for the offices of the Company in Nicosia.
