Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee VAT compliance for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate and timely preparation and submission of VAT returns and related filings.
• Maintain responsibility for accounting work for a portfolio of clients, including reviewing bookkeeping, reconciliations, and ensuring alignment between accounting records and VAT reporting.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients on VAT compliance matters, handling queries and providing practical guidance on day-to-day VAT issues.
• Review and ensure the correct VAT treatment within financial records, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Liaise with VAT authorities on compliance matters, including queries, audits, and submissions, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
• Monitor and ensure adherence to local VAT regulations and deadlines, minimizing compliance risks for clients.
• Support clients with VAT registrations, deregistrations, and ongoing compliance obligations.
• Assist with basic VAT advisory where required, particularly in relation to transactions and routine business activities.
• Conduct periodic VAT checks and reconciliations as part of the accounting review process.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistency between accounting, tax, and VAT reporting.
• Monitor legislative changes in VAT and communicate relevant updates to clients and internally.
• Provide guidance and support to team members on VAT matters, reviewing relevant areas and ensuring quality and accuracy.

 Candidate Profile 

• Degree Graduate in Accounting, Tax, Finance, Law, Economics, or related field.
• ACCA/ACA/CPA member
• Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong experience managing communications with Tax/VAT authorities.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English and Greek.
• Strong business awareness and high ethical standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical judgment skills.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor others.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and professional skills.
• Team-oriented with a strong commitment to professional and client service excellence.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office programs
