Job Description

 The Role:

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a practical AML/Compliance Officer who can actively design, implement, and manage the day-to-day compliance function (including reporting) from the ground up, based in Nicosia.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Execute and oversee day-to-day AML/CFT compliance activities, including customer reviews, transaction monitoring checks, compliance assessments, and regulatory support tasks.

• Perform customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), KYC reviews, and ongoing customer monitoring in line with a risk-based approach.

• Conduct customer risk assessments and identify higher-risk customers requiring enhanced controls and monitoring.

• Perform sanctions screening, PEP checks, adverse media screening, and supporting documentation reviews.

• Support the preparation and submission of AML/CFT reports, regulatory filings, and compliance-related documentation.

• Review, maintain, and enhance AML/CFT policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure continued regulatory compliance.

• Conduct compliance monitoring reviews and testing activities, identify potential gaps, and support the implementation of remediation actions.

 Qualifications and Requirements:

• Finance, Law or Business/ Economics related degrees.

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.

• CySEC AML Certificate or any other relevant professional certification (e.g. ACAMS, ICA) is required.

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.

• Experienced in working under pressure, shifting priorities as tasks come in.

• Willingness to learn and to evolve in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Positive attitude with a “can-do” perspective.

• Highly committed personality.

• Professionalism, work ethic, self-motivated and team player.
