Job Description
Role: Accountant
Working in a team of 4, this role assumes performing more advanced accounting tasks for group companies, as well as having a portfolio of companies where Accountant will have sole full responsibility.
Compensation: Base salary + discretionary bonus which is more than one salary
Key responsibilities
- You will be Responsible for full accounting & audit of a number of group entities (based in UAE, Singapore, HK and other)
- Liaise with auditing firms for new companies, get quotations, negotiate scope of work. Select auditors and complete the audit process
- Contribute towards management reports and group consolidation on monthly quarterly and annual basis (currently all done in excel)
- Produce various regular reports&analysis as well as on-demand analysis for the management on consolidate group basis (eg analysis of profitability per office, per trader, analysis and comparison of various costs)
- Assist in putting together budget and evaluate variance/compliance with the budget
- VAT submissions and claims for fuel deliveries in UAE and other regions
- Work with accounts manager on new accounting system implementation and improvement
- Assist with various other regular tasks on daily basis, such as: cash flow forecasting, preparation of documentations for transaction loans, cash allocation decisions across many of the group banks, and other
- You may also be required to perform various other daily tasks such as:
- Bank reconciliations,
- Monitor payments from clients and payment schedule to suppliers
- Assist with closing monthly books
The candidate
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Past experience in a shipping company is a benefit (but not required)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Prior accounting experience required, minimum 5 years
- Accounting qualification
- Strong excel skills (such as sumif, vlookup, pivot tables, and others)
