CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a versatile and innovative technology company that has been enabling digital transformation solutions for financial institutions in more than 30 countries worldwide, we are seeking to recruit an Android Developer to join their growing team based in Nicosia. As an Android Developer, you will ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications, as well as diagnosing performance issues and bugs to increase the functionality and performance of new applications. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or another related field, with proven experience in Android application development. A solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle is essential and experience with third-party libraries, and APIs will be considered an advantage. An attractive remuneration and benefits package is on offer, which includes a 13th salary, and Provident Fund.

 

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Diagnose performance issues and fix bugs to increase the functionality and performance of new applications.
• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
• Work with outside data sources and APIs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.

 

Key Skills/Experience: 

• Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in Android app development.
• Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.
• Experience with Android SDK.
• Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices.
• Technical analysis and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Demonstrated interest in learning new technologies.

 

Nice to Have: 

• Experience with third-party libraries and APIs.
• Experience with Kotlin programming language.
• Experience with MVVM software architectural pattern.
• Understanding of code versioning tools.
