Job Profile:
The Assistant Spa Manager will support the Spa Manager in the day-to-day operation of the Spa, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, high service standards and the smooth and efficient running of the department. The role combines hands-on spa treatments, guest service, operational support, team coordination and training. Working closely with the Spa Manager, the Assistant Spa Manager will help maintain operational standards, support the team and ensure that guests receive a consistently high level of service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Support the Spa Manager in the daily operation and coordination of the department.
· Deliver a variety of spa treatments, including massages, facial and body treatments, in accordance with established standards and protocols.
· Perform reception duties when required, including managing bookings, appointments and guest enquiries.
· Promote and upsell spa treatments, services and retail products to enhance the guest experience and support departmental revenue.
· Respond to guest requests and feedback professionally and effectively, ensuring appropriate service recovery where required.
· Assist with the coordination of the team and support the Spa Manager in maintaining high standards of service and performance.
· Assist with the training and development of team members, including professional and behavioural training.
· Ensure that team members follow treatment protocols, service standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
· Conduct regular inventory checks and assist with ordering consumables, professional-use and retail products.
· Monitor stock levels and ensure that treatment rooms and Spa areas are fully equipped and maintained to the required standards.
· Report operational issues, stock requirements and other departmental matters to the Spa Manager.
· Assist the Spa Manager with the implementation and consistent application of departmental procedures and standards.
· Support the Spa Manager with daily administrative and operational tasks.
· Assist in overseeing the Spa operations in the absence of the Spa Manager, as required.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
· Previous experience in a Spa, Wellness or luxury hospitality environment; supervisory experience will be considered an advantage.
· Relevant certification in massage therapy, beauty therapy or a related field.
· Strong practical knowledge of massage, facial and body treatments.
· Proven ability to deliver exceptional guest service within a luxury or 5-star environment.
· Experience in handling guest feedback, complaints and service recovery professionally.
· Ability to support, guide and coordinate team members and contribute to their training and development.
· Good understanding of daily Spa operations.
· Basic knowledge of inventory management, stock control and product ordering will be considered an advantage.
· Experience with reception duties, booking systems and guest coordination will be considered an advantage.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work effectively as part of a team and support the Spa Manager.
· Good command of English; knowledge of additional languages will be considered an advantage.
