Philippou Law Firm is seeking an organised and detail-oriented Client Onboarding & AML Assistant to join our team in Paphos.

The successful candidate will support client onboarding and the firm’s Anti-Money Laundering (AML) procedures, working closely with our AML Compliance Officer and legal and corporate teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with onboarding new clients, collecting the required information and supporting documentation.
• Review identification documents, corporate records and Know Your Customer (KYC) forms for completeness and accuracy.
• Assist with identifying and verifying ultimate beneficial owners and reviewing corporate ownership structures.
• Carry out sanctions, politically exposed person (PEP) and adverse media screening, referring potential concerns to the AML Compliance Officer.
• Support customer due diligence checks and the preparation of client risk assessments.
• Communicate professionally with clients and follow up on outstanding documents and information.
• Maintain accurate client files, compliance records and onboarding trackers.
• Assist with periodic reviews and updates to existing clients’ KYC documentation.
• Coordinate with internal teams to progress onboarding files through the required checks and approvals.
• Provide administrative support to the AML Compliance Officer.

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and spoken English; Greek and additional languages will be considered an advantage.
• Professional communication skills and a client-focused approach.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, follow procedures and meet deadlines.
• Integrity, discretion and respect for confidential information.
• Willingness to learn and develop knowledge of AML/KYC procedures.
• Relevant AML/compliance qualifications will be considered an advantage.
