On behalf of our Client, a Banking Institution in Nicosia, we are seeking to recruit Head of Risk Data Aggregation & Risk Reporting (RDARR) Validation Unit.
Ensures that the Bank’s RDARR processes are functioning properly, hence assuring that the Bank’s data and risk reports are complete, accurate, timely and traceable, in accordance with the European Central Bank Guide (ECB guide on effective RDARR, May 2024) and the BCBS 239 principles. The responsibilities of this specific role include the validation of the BCBS239 principles related to Risk Reporting and Data Quality, such as Data architecture and IT infrastructure, accuracy and integrity, completeness, timeliness and adoptability.
Conducts independent regular and ad hoc risk reporting and data quality validations primarily or through an independent review of existing indicators, methodologies or findings established by other Bank Units (or independent third parties) for the preparation of assessments and reports on data validation issues (indicatively data lineage, data aggregation, review of data quality indicators KQIs), within the framework and scope of the unit’s responsibilities.
Contributes in the establishment and update of the Data Validation Framework for Risk Reporting and Data Quality related issues in accordance with the RDARR supervisory guidelines and BCBS 239 principles, as part of the broader Bank Risk Management Framework.
Participates in projects and committees within the Bank and at an interbank level, on RDARR issues within the framework and perimeter of hers/his responsibilities, with a second line of defense view.
Monitors international, supervisory developments and practices in her/his field of responsibility, with the aim of developing, improving and harmonizing the Unit's work with supervisory standards and best practices.
Collaborates and communicates systematically with other Units of the Bank’s Internal Control System for the evaluation of findings, resolution of significant findings, work planning and coordination of responses to supervisory inquiries and requests.
Qualifications / Skills / Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in: Risk Management, Data Science, Finance or related field
Postgraduate Studies: postgraduate studies in the above fields and/or professional certifications such as FRM, PRM, CISA and CDMP.
Previous work experience: at least 5-7 years in risk management, compliance, internal audit, data management /data quality/validation or data governance preferably within an SSM-supervised Bank or Consulting firm (including specialized IT/Business Analytics Consultancy firms, deploying solutions relevant to data governance/data quality/BCBS 239).
Specialized Qualifications:
Working knowledge of BCBS 239, the ECB RDARR Guide (2024), COREP/FINREP, ICAAP/ILAAP.
Risk-data architecture, IT Infrastructure, Data Lineage
Data-quality rule design & analytics
Hands-on capability with SQL (or other data management tool)
