HSE Officer
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Company's Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Management System.
Conduct workplace inspections, audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations to ensure compliance and promote a safe working environment.
Monitor compliance with HSE legislation, company procedures, and industry standards across operational activities.
Provide practical HSE advice and guidance to employees, supervisors, contractors, and subcontractors.
Review contractor documentation, monitor contractor compliance, and support safe coordination of operational activities.
Maintain HSE records, reports, and documentation, and assist with external audits and regulatory inspections.
Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness initiatives to promote a positive safety culture.
Analyse HSE performance data and recommend improvements to enhance safety and environmental performance.
Undertake any other duties commensurate with the nature, responsibility, and level of the role.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
Recognised professional Health & Safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH General Certificate, NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH, or equivalent).
Demonstrated experience in occupational health, safety and environmental roles within industrial, marine, ship repair, drydock, construction, engineering, manufacturing, or other high-risk operational environments.
Experience conducting HSE inspections, audits, incident investigations, hazard identification, workplace risk assessments, and contractor or subcontractor compliance monitoring.
Ability to analyse HSE information, identify trends, prepare reports, and recommend practical corrective and preventive actions.
Excellent time management.
Proficient in English (written and spoken); proficiency in Greek will be considered an advantage.
Clean criminal record.
Benefits:
- Salary Scale: €2500 - €3600 gross per month dependant on qualifications and experience.
Monday – Friday, 08.00 – 17.00 hrs.
Provident Fund Scheme after 6 months.
