About the Role

As a Junior Accountant, you will join our Accounting team and work with a diverse portfolio of clients, gaining hands-on experience in accounting, financial reporting, payroll and taxation.

Working closely with experienced accounting professionals, you will develop your technical knowledge, build strong client relationships and progressively take on greater responsibility as you grow in your role.

What You'll Do

• Maintain accounting records and process accounting entries for a portfolio of clients.
• Communicate with clients to collect financial information and supporting documentation.
• Prepare monthly bank, debtor and creditor reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end procedures, including accruals and prepayments.
• Maintain and update fixed asset registers.
• Prepare management accounts and cash flow statements.
• Assist with end-to-end payroll processing.
• Prepare and process VAT and VIES returns, ensuring compliance with applicable deadlines.
• Assist with provisional tax estimates and monitor changes in clients' tax positions.
• Ensure accounting transactions are properly documented and supporting records are accurately maintained and archived.
• Liaise with clients and auditors, providing the necessary information and documentation during the audit process.
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments to meet clients' accounting, financial reporting and tax requirements.
• Respond to client queries promptly and professionally, ensuring assignments are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• An LCCI Higher or Intermediate Certificate in Accounting, or a Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) qualification.
• A bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance, Economics, Mathematics or another relevant field will be considered an advantage.
• A good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting procedures.
• Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Good computer literacy and a willingness to learn new accounting systems and technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Greek and English.
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• A positive, professional and client-focused attitude.
• A willingness to learn, take initiative and develop professionally in a fast-paced environment.
