Job Description

SmartSea, formed by industry leaders SITA (aviation) and Columbia Shipmanagement (maritime), leverages aviation-grade technology and expertise to deliver the next wave of maritime digital applications on an innovative unified platform—transforming how shipping companies operate. As our team expanding, we are seeking to recruit a Junior Spares Support Engineer to join our team.

 

Requirements:

• A University degree or equivalent and/or relevant work experience;
• Good proficiency in the AMOS data model and configuration for maintenance and material modules;
• Basic knowledge of T-SQL within Sybase and MSSQL environments;
• Basic understanding of vessel structures, vessel systems and equipment as well as marine engineering standards and classification society regulations;
• Good communication skills as well as the ability to work within a team;
• Good command of the English language.

Responsibilities:

• Executing and resolving assigned spare parts engineering tasks according to architectural standards and protocols;
• Ensuring timely and effective completion of assigned cases;
• Escalating system defect cases as necessary;
• Travelling and attending vessels or other Company offices for project-related tasks and operational support, as required;
• Being adequately conversant with the Company’s Management System;
• Implementing effectively the Company’s Management System;
• Contributing to the development of new or the amendment of existing procedures;
• Promoting and supporting efforts for continual improvement;
• Executing any other tasks as assigned by the Team Leader/ Line Manager/ Head or Top Management

Contract:

Six months fixed term contract
