CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a long-established engineering company that provides design and manufacturing solutions to the dairy and food industries, we are seeking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team based in Nicosia. As part of the of the Technical Department, you will be working closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to design, develop, and optimize mechanical solutions for dairy processing and food manufacturing equipment. Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in Mechanical Engineering, or other closely related fields, who possess 1+ year of engineering experience, including internships, thesis projects, or industrial placements. You will need to be proficient in parametric 3D CAD and 2D drafting software, and have a solid understanding of mechanical systems and design principles. Fluency in Greek and English, both verbal and written, is essential. Key Duties/Responsibilities:
Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for dairy processing and food manufacturing equipment.
Develop 3D CAD models and 2D drawings with full parametric design methodology.
Support prototype builds, functional testing, and validation of new designs.
Perform mechanical engineering calculations (structural, thermal, flow, etc.) to support design decisions.
Generate and maintain BoMs, technical documentation, and revision-controlled drawings in accordance with company standards.
Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams (electrical, automation, production, and installations) as well as suppliers and contractors.
Ensure projects meet timeline, cost, and quality objectives.
Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting design optimizations and efficiency gains.
Key Skills/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
1–4 years of engineering experience (internships, thesis projects, or industrial placements will be considered).
Proficiency in parametric 3D CAD and 2D drafting software.
Solid understanding of mechanical systems and design principles.
Strong calculation skills (stress analysis, tolerances, thermal and flow fundamentals).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical ability with attention to detail.
Fluent in both Greek and English (written and verbal).
Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
