BSc in Medical Laboratory Sciences or Biomedical Sciences. (Specialization in Biochemistry, Haematology, Immunology, or Microbiology will be considered an advantage.)
Minimum 2 years of experience in an accredited clinical laboratory.
Expertise in blood collection (certificate will be considered an advantage).
Fluency in English and Greek – both written and spoken.
Expertise in Microsoft Office programs, online email, calendar and/or other Windows based software.
Previous hospital experience will be considered as advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Handle and preserve biological samples under appropriate conditions.
Operate and maintain laboratory analysers: prepare reagents, materials and instruments.
Conduct haematological, biochemical, and immunological testing following established protocols.
Use of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) with accuracy and attention to detail.
Ensure strict adherence to hygiene and safety standards.
Perform phlebotomy on walk-in patients.
Participate in rotational weekend duties.
Implement internal and external quality control procedures.
Report abnormal and critical values to supervisor.
Ensure required turnaround times for reporting results are achieved whenever possible.
Assist in the preparation of Laboratory documentation (policies and SOPs) according to ISO 15189.
Conduct stock management: monitor supplies, report needs to supervisor and execute orders.
Maintain and upgrade professional knowledge and taking responsibility for continuing professional education.
