About the job
We are looking for an ambitious individual to join our rapidly growing workforce in Nicosia, Cyprus. The ideal candidate is an organized individual of high integrity, with numerical ability and attention to detail and procedures. Relevant professional experience within the financial industry is a requirement, as well as communication skills and the ability to operate independently while engaging effectively with senior stakeholders. The successful applicant will be part of the Group’s operations department and will be the officer responsible for safeguarding client funds. In addition, the successful applicant will assist in organizing and delivering the operational tasks of the Group, including records and data maintenance, account monitoring and filings, settlements of financial instruments, and relevant reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities
The Operations Associate will contribute to the Team by performing the following:
Organise and maintain suitable procedures and workflows for ensuring full compliance with all applicable CySEC safeguarding requirements relating to the receipt, holding, segregation, reconciliation and protection of Client funds. Maintain and update the Safeguarding of Client Funds Policy and related procedures.
Post, maintain and update daily transactions into the Group’s middle-office and back-office systems to ensure proper deposit, withdrawal, and segregation of Client money and Client assets.
Prepare and dispatch all relevant reports to Clients and regulatory authorities on a systematic basis, including CySEC and any other applicable regulatory authority.
Liaise with banks and other financial institutions with regards to timely transfers and settlements of cash and financial instruments, monitor settlement delays, and ensure appropriate arrangements.
Ensure regular reconciliations are performed and review and sign off reconciliation results and ensure discrepancies are investigated and resolved without delay. Maintain accurate and complete safeguarding records, available for CySEC inspections.
Carry out initial and periodic due diligence on credit institutions, custodians and any third parties holding client funds and monitor compliance with limits on exposure and concentration thresholds.
Provide full operational support in maintaining proper records for the Group and its Clients as per the applicable policies and procedures.
Liaise with the Group’s internal and external auditors regarding Safeguarding of Client Funds and the back-office operations of the Group.
Requirements
University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Law or related field. CySEC Advanced.
Prior experience in the financial industry and proven experience with client money segregation, reconciliations and controls
Fluency in Greek and English, both written and spoken
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to engage effectively within the Group and with external associates to properly escalate and resolve issues
