Under the direction of the Pastry Chef and within the limits of established policies and procedures, produces and presents pastries and baked goods of high quality.
Key Responsibilities
Prepares fresh ingredients for cooking according to recipes and menus.
Prepares and bakes pastries and specialty bakery items, in line with recipes and presentation standards.
Weighs, measures, and mixes ingredients precisely; chops and stores pastries and bakery items.
Washes and peels fresh fruits and vegetables; prepares cold food items.
Prepares special pastries or substitute items under the guidance of the Pastry Chef.
Tests pastries and bakery items to determine if they are cooked sufficiently.
Monitors the quality and quantity of pastries and bakery items that is prepared. Ensures proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish.
Serves pastries and bakery items in correct portions using appropriate receptacles.
Performs other reasonable job duties as requested by the kitchen executive team.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma in Culinary/Pastry Arts or equivalent professional certification.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position in a 4- or 5-star hotel or in well-established restaurants.
Very good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
Very good communication skills.
Good knowledge of HACCP procedures.
Ability to obtain and maintain a food handler certification.
Good customer service orientation with a commitment to guest satisfaction.
