About the Role
The Mid-Level QA Engineer is responsible for supporting the quality, stability and reliability of the Company's web applications, platforms and integrations.The role works closely with Product Owners, Developers, DevOps Engineers and business stakeholders to validate new features, execute testing activities, develop automated tests and support reliable production releases.

Role Scope & Responsibility
Works with a good level of independence within established QA processes, testing standards and procedures.

The role independently plans and executes testing activities, identifies and manages defects, supports release validation and contributes to test automation and QA process improvements, while collaborating with senior technical colleagues on highly complex or business-critical quality matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, prepare, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business stakeholders.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects through to resolution.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts to improve testing efficiency.
• Validate application releases before deployment to production.
• Verify APIs, integrations, and backend services.
• Collaborate closely with Front-end, Back-end, and DevOps teams.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies.
• Ensure software meets functional, performance, usability, and quality standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and automation frameworks.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent relevant technical qualifications/experience.
• Approximately 3–5+ years of relevant professional experience in Software QA, Software Testing or a related technical environment.
• Demonstrated practical experience with both manual and automated software testing.

Required Knowledge

• Good understanding of software-testing methodologies and QA best practices.
• Good knowledge of functional, regression, integration and end-to-end testing.
• Understanding of test planning and test-case design.
• Knowledge of manual and automated testing principles.
• Good understanding of defect management and issue tracking.
• Knowledge of REST API testing.
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Understanding of software-quality and release-validation principles.

Required Skills

• Ability to independently design and execute test plans and test cases.
• Manual and automated software-testing capability.
• REST API testing capability using Postman or similar tools.
• Ability to identify, prioritize, document and track software defects.
• Ability to support and coordinate UAT activities.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to software quality.
• Ability to independently organize and prioritize testing activities.
• Ability to work effectively within Agile and cross-functional teams.
• Effective communication and stakeholder-collaboration skills.
• Professional proficiency in English and Greek.

Considered an advantage: 

• SQL knowledge.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and release-management processes.
• Experience testing cloud-based applications.
• Exposure to performance testing.
• Exposure to security testing.
• Experience with additional test-automation frameworks or tools.
• Relevant software-testing certifications.
• Previous experience within fintech or financial-services environments.
• Proficiency in any additional language.

Effort & Role Demands
The role requires sustained technical concentration, analytical thinking, attention to detail and independent problem-solving when testing applications, investigating defects and validating software releases.

It involves managing multiple testing priorities, meeting release deadlines and responding to software-quality issues in a timely and accurate manner.

Working Conditions & Schedule

• Full-time permanent position.
• Hybrid working arrangement available after 6 months – 3 days in the office and 2 days remote
• Monday–Thursday: 08:30–17:15, including a 45-minute lunch break.
• Friday: 08:30–17:00, including a 30-minute lunch break.
• The position may require increased testing and coordination activity around application releases and production deployments.

Compensation

Initial salary positioning within the range is determined using objective, gender-neutral criteria relevant to the position, including relevant professional experience, demonstrated technical knowledge and skills, qualifications, proficiency with relevant systems and technologies, and the level of independence and responsibility demonstrated against the requirements of the role.
