The Role
As Sales Director – Europe, you will lead new business acquisitions across priority EU markets, driving revenue growth, expanding the company’s presence within targeted industry verticals, and building long-term customer relationships . This a senior contributor role suited to a commercially self-driven sales leader with deep expertise in full-cycle sales within the European payments ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Customer
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective customers across Europe, understanding their business models, operational environments, and payment challenges.
- Apply a consultative, strategic selling approach to translate complex payment solutions into clear, compelling commercial value propositions.
- Act as a trusted advisor, ensuring a seamless customer journey from initial engagement through successful onboarding and early-stage processing.
Accountability
- Own the full sales lifecycle, including prospecting, outreach, pitching, negotiation, and onboarding.
- Take accountability for the first three months of customer processing, ensuring successful integration and smooth handover to Relationship Management.
- Consistently meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets, maintaining strong pipeline discipline.
Responsibility
- Partner with the SVP, Sales to define and execute go-to-market strategies across key European verticals.
- Analyse market trends, regulatory developments, and competitor positioning to identify growth opportunities and influence internal product and commercial strategy.
- Drive new business through high-impact sales presentations, tailored proposals, and strategic deal structuring.
Engagement
- Collaborate closely with Product, Marketing, Channel, and Account Management teams to ensure alignment and successful customer outcomes.
- Support continuous improvement by sharing insights on customer needs, sales performance, and market dynamics.
- Foster strong internal relationships to support cross-functional execution and long-term growth.
Skills & Requirements
Skills
- End-to-End Sales Execution: Proven ability to manage the entire sales process - from initial prospecting and outreach to complex contract negotiation and the first three months of customer onboarding.
- Consultative Selling: A natural ability to build deep relationships, identify customer pain points, and translate complex payment solutions into commercial value propositions.
- Strategic Thinking: Comfortable performing market and competitor analysis to influence internal product development and refine vertical-specific strategies.
- Financial Literacy & Payments Expertise: Ability to explain payment flows across the board (from technical teams to C-suite executives).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with Product, Marketing, and Account Management teams to ensure a seamless transition for new customers.
Requirements
- Proven Industry Portfolio: A solid track record of success in a high-transaction vertical (e.g., E-commerce, Travel, or Retail) within the payment processing or fintech space.
- Revenue Driven: Demonstrated experience meeting or exceeding monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
- Language Proficiency:
- Native/fluency in English is mandatory.
- Fluency in an additional language is a significant advantage.
- Solid knowledge of the payment ecosystem and deep understanding of European regulatory requirements (KYC, AML, PCI DSS).
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to operate autonomously in a senior individual contributor role.
