Job Title: Sommelier

Reports To: Assistant Beverage Manager
Job Profile:
Ararat Grand Residences is seeking a passionate and experienced Sommelier to join our luxury hospitality team. The Sommelier will enhance the guest dining experience through expert wine service, curated pairings, and in-depth knowledge of wine regions, vintages, and cellar management, ensuring an exceptional 5-star experience.
Job Description
- Manage wine service, including selection, purchase, storage, and service of wines and other beverages (beer, spirits, sake)
- Recommend and deliver wine and food pairings in collaboration with the culinary team
- Oversee cellar management, including inventory control and proper storage conditions
- Guide guests in wine selection based on preferences, menu, and expert knowledge of wine regions and varietals
- Maintain and update the restaurant wine list in line with quality standards and offerings
- Train and support restaurant staff in wine knowledge and service standards
- Ensure high standards of wine presentation and service during guest interactions
- Monitor stock levels and ensure efficient cellar operations
Person Specification:
· Strong background in wine service within luxury hospitality or fine dining environments
· In-depth knowledge of wines, grape varieties, regions, and winemaking techniques
· WSET certification or equivalent qualification is an advantage
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Strong guest-focused and service-oriented attitude
· Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen and service teams
· Passion for delivering memorable guest experiences through wine
· Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills
