Legal Commercial Officer (Maternity Cover)
Job Description
Job Purpose:
Senior Corporate Legal Officer / Data Protection Officer provides legal support across the Company’s operations, ensuring compliance with Cyprus, EU, and international laws, while minimizing legal risks and safeguarding corporate requirements.
The role also acts as the appointed Data Protection Officer (DPO), ensuring compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Cyprus data protection laws.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Legal Advisory & Business Support
•Provide practical legal advice to Management and departments on corporate and operational matters.
•Support business decisions by balancing legal risks with corporate objectives.
•Assist in corporate governance matters, including board resolutions and statutory documentation.
Contracting & Commercial Legal
•Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements (e.g. service agreements, supply agreements, NDAs etc.).
•Maintain contract templates and ensure consistency with legal and legislative requirements.
•Support business functions in managing contractual obligations and risks.
•Draft and review of Letter of Authorisations
•Support with the contract management system
Compliance, Regulatory & Risk Management
•Deliver basic training/presentation of compliance policies and procedures during induction training for new hires.
Data Protection & Privacy (DPO)
•Provide legal support on GDPR associated matters
Qualifications and Skills:
•Education: Bachelor's degree in Law, Master's Degree is an advantage
•Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience (legal mandatory, pharmaceutical industry is an advantage)
•Communication Skills: The job requires frequent explanation of information or procedures, adapting style to different people, resolving misunderstandings, and ensuring shared understanding
•Language knowledge: Proficiency in English is mandatory; Greek is an advantage
Salary range:
Minimum pay: 27,882.00 EUR gross annually
Maximum pay: 41, 823.00 EUR gross annually
