About our client
Our client is a non-profit organisation operating at a national level, focusing in coordinating large-scale programmes, stakeholder/partnership engagement, and strategic initiatives. They are seeking an all-rounded accounting/finance professional, to take the role of Financial Controller and oversee the financial management of the organization.
Key responsibilities
The successful candidate will lead a small team and will work closely with the CEO of the organisation, including the below responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, payments and treasury management.
- Oversee budgeting and financial planning, and the timely preparation of relevant financial and other reports.
- Oversee monthly payroll processing and tender procurement processes.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and financial system enhancements.
- Create and manage effective relationships with all stakeholders, auditors, external authorities, banks.
- Contribute to the strategy formulation and implementation, present results and ad hoc reports to the board of directors.
Desired profile
- Around 3 years’ post-qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA) experience, either in an accounting/finance team or in a professional service firm.
- A confident, dynamic and resilient personality.
- Team player, able to take ownership and operate effectively in a responsible finance management role.
- Sociable, with a focus on building relationships and trust with colleagues, associates and external stakeholders.
- Tech savvy (MS office, working exposure with accounting software will be a plus).
- Ability to work/ensure compliance with different regulatory frameworks.
- Fluent in Greek and English.
What our client offers
- An attractive salary around €45.000 gross per annum, with automatic annual salary increments, subject to satisfactory performance and continued service.
- Very competitive provident fund with a 9% contribution by the employer.
- Working hours: 8.00 am-3.30 pm (with flexible arrival and departure times). Willing to work beyond office hours, as work demands the participation in board meetings, etc.
