Our client, a top-rated professional services firm in Nicosia, is looking to recruit an Associate for their Corporate Department.

 

Position:

The Associate will support the assigned Manager and Team for the day-to-day management and corporate work of a portfolio of Cyprus companies as well as companies incorporated in other jurisdictions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the incorporation and day-to-day management of legal entities in Cyprus and foreign jurisdictions and also assisting their Board of Directors on their corporate responsibilities and other duties
  • Review and prepare various legal documents, including directors’ and shareholders’ minutes / resolutions, Powers of Attorneys, agreements (such as loan agreements, pledge agreements, share purchase agreements), etc
  • Assisting clients with matters relating to agreements, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, trusts, etc.
  • Liaising with other professional advisers and public / regulatory authorities (as necessary)
  • Assisting clients with matters relating to the abovementioned
  • Performing legal research and preparing relevant reports
  • Other departmental duties as assigned by the responsible Manager and Head of the Department
  • Communicating with clients to receive or provide information required to complete all necessary work
  • Providing timely and quality service to clients
  • Working closely with the Compliance Department for AML and KYC matters including implementation of pertinent procedures
  • Assisting with client due diligence for corporate and trust structures (including the reviewing and processing of KYC documentation)
  • Assisting with transactional compliance matters
  • Ensuring compliance of various legal entities with applicable AML and Data Protection laws / regulations / directives, best corporate practices and internal regulations
  • Communicating with the clients and associates on a regular basis on matters relevant to the above
  • Carrying out any other duties and responsibilities that may be deemed necessary by the Management of the Firm

 

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • University Degree in Law (LLB)
  • Cyprus Bar Exams (or similar qualifications) and LLM in Corporate / Commercial Law shall be considered an advantage
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in a similar role
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  • Fluent business level both in Greek and English
  • Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to take initiative
  • Proven ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Professional attitude and appropriate work ethic

Location: The position is for the offices of the company in Nicosia

 

Remuneration: An attractive remuneration package according to qualifications and experience will be offered to the successful candidate including 13th salary and Provident Fund.
