Financial Controller
Job Description

The VAVLITIS Group is one of Cyprus' leading privately-owned business groups, operating for over 50 years in the fields of Mechanical Contracting, HVAC Distribution, Hospitality and Leisure. Due to the continued growth of its operations, the Group is seeking to recruit an experienced Financial Controller to lead its finance function.
Reporting directly to the Group Directors, the ideal candidate should be results oriented, dynamic and enthusiastic individual with a solid background in accounting and finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all finance and accounting operations of the Group.
- Ensure the timely preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports for senior management.
- Coordinate the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts and variance analysis.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital and cost management to ensure the financial health of the Group.
- Develop, implement and maintain effective financial controls, accounting policies and business processes.
- Review financial and operational risks and recommend appropriate control measures.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, taxation requirements and all statutory and regulatory obligations.
- Coordinate the preparation of annual statutory financial statements and liaise with external auditors.
- Supervise the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
- Review and improve accounting procedures and reporting systems to enhance operational efficiency.
- Support senior management with financial analysis, business performance monitoring and strategic planning.
- Lead, mentor and develop the finance team.
Requirements
- ACA or ACCA qualified (or an equivalent professional qualification).
- University degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Substantial experience, including several years in a senior financial management position.
- Previous experience within hospitality, construction, engineering or trading industries will be considered an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, taxation and financial reporting requirements.
- Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ERP/Accounting systems.
- Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent command of both Greek and English.
