CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an established software development company building intelligent software solutions for the maritime sector, we are seeking to recruit an IT Business Analyst to join their growing team based in Nicosia. As an IT Business Analyst, you will lead and participate in client workshops to capture, clarify, and prioritise requirements. You will then translate workshop outcomes into well-defined user stories, specs, and acceptance criteria. Our client is seeking applicants who hold proven experience in a relevant Business and/or Systems Analyst role, with strong experience with requirements gathering and needs analysis. You will need to be fluent in verbal and written English, with any prior experience gained working the maritime software industry considered a plus, but not essential. An attractive remuneration and benefits package is on offer, based on skills and experience, which includes a 13th salary, and hybrid working options.

 

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Lead and participate in client workshops to capture, clarify, and prioritise requirements.
• Serve as the primary interface between the client (product owners) and the delivery team.
• Translate workshop outcomes into well-defined user stories, specs, and acceptance criteria.
• Use AI tools daily to accelerate requirements analysis, documentation, and problem-solving.
• Collaborate with the team to estimate task effort and plan realistic sprint commitments.
• Work with clients to define and prioritise sprints based on business value and project goals.
• Monitor team progress, flag blockers early, and keep delivery on track.
• Own and maintain JIRA backlogs — creating, refining, and managing tickets throughout the sprint lifecycle.
• Maintain clear, up-to-date documentation in Confluence.

 

Key Skills/Experience: 

• Proven experience in a relevant Business/Systems Analyst role.
• Proven experience with requirements gathering and needs analysis.
• Strong experience with client-facing communication.
• Experience working with Jira.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum.
• Fluency in verbal and written English.
• Experience producing system analysis artefacts: UML models, REST API specs, Swagger documentation is a plus.
• Experience integrating and validating JSON-based APIs and third-party systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with maritime industry software or operations is desirable.
• Confluence administration or knowledge base management is a plus.
• Familiarity with SQL or basic data analysis tools will be considered an advantage.
