The Role
As Payment Operations Officer, you will participate to the day-to-day execution and control of our treasury and payments operations. You will contribute timely and accurate payment processing across relevant rails, and liquidity oversight to support continuous settlement and customer service.
This is a hands-on role combining operational execution and payment processes, while closely collaborating with Compliance, Risk and Technical Operations Departments.
Key Responsibilities:
· Participate to the end-to-end operational processing of customer and internal payments across supported payment rails and channels, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to cut-offs.
· Prepare payment release, cancellation, and amendment of payments as required, ensuring proper documentation and audit-ready traceability.
· Run payment investigations, including internal coordination with other stakeholders, ensuring clear tracking and timely outcomes.
· Support handling of payment returns, recalls, disputes, and refunds in line with scheme rules and internal procedures.
· Prepare FX operations as required, to support the payment execution and settlement, including quote coordination, execution support, and appropriate record-keeping.
· Participate to accurate operational handling of multi-currency flows, settlement steps, and reconciliation of related payment positions.
· Monitor operational liquidity across relevant accounts to support settlement readiness and continuity of payments processing.
· Monitor operational liquidity movements and funding actions as needed, to support daily activity.
· Manage daily reconciliations and safeguarding-supporting operational routines, in line with internal controls and regulatory expectations.
Requirements:
· Some experience in treasury operations, payments operations, or settlement operations within a regulated environment (EMI, payment institution, bank, PSP, or fintech).
· Understanding and/or desire to learn of payment operations concepts such as cut-offs, queues, recalls/returns, investigations, and operational controls.
· Comfort in being able to work across multiple systems and platforms (e.g., core banking/payment platforms, banking portals, operational dashboards, case management tools).
· Attention to detail, strong ownership mindset, and the ability to work calmly under time pressure and deadlines.
· Strong communication skills, especially when coordinating payments within cross-functional teams.
Nice to have
· Familiarity with messaging and payment standards (e.g., ISO 20022) and scheme operations.
· Advanced Excel/Sheets skills; ability to create clear operational reporting and KPIs.
· Experience supporting audit requests and regulatory-driven operational evidence.
