We are looking for a Payroll Officer to join our team and be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of the company's monthly payroll. The successful candidate will work closely with HR, Finance, and employees to ensure payroll is processed accurately and in compliance with applicable legislation and internal policies.
The role requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, organizational skills, and a good understanding of payroll processes and employment-related deductions.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the monthly payroll process from data collection through to finalization.
Collect and verify payroll-related information, including salaries, allowances, bonuses, overtime, commissions, unpaid leave, and other deductions.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee payroll records.
Process new joiners, leavers, salary changes, promotions, and other employee changes affecting payroll.
Calculate and process statutory deductions, social insurance, PAYE, and other applicable contributions.
Prepare payroll reports and summaries for Finance and Management.
Ensure payroll is processed accurately and within the required deadlines.
Liaise with HR and Finance regarding payroll discrepancies and employee-related queries.
Respond to employees' payroll questions and provide clarification regarding salary payments, deductions, leave, and other payroll matters.
Prepare relevant payroll documentation and reports for internal purposes and external authorities when required.
Assist with the preparation and submission of statutory payroll-related declarations and payments.
Maintain strict confidentiality of employee salary and personal information.
Reconcile payroll data and identify and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain proper payroll documentation and ensure records are organized and accessible.
Support audits and provide payroll information and documentation when required.
Stay updated on changes in Cyprus employment, payroll, tax, and social insurance legislation.
Assist with other HR and payroll-related projects as required.
Requirements
2–3 years of experience in payroll administration or a similar position.
Good knowledge of Cyprus payroll procedures and legislation.
Understanding of PAYE, Social Insurance, GESY, and other statutory deductions.
Experience with payroll software and HRIS systems.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work with strict deadlines and handle confidential information.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Very good command of English.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Advantageous
Experience working in an international or fast-paced environment.
Experience with payroll for multiple entities or jurisdictions.
Familiarity with HRIS and time & attendance systems.
Relevant degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance, HR, Business Administration, or a related field
